Getting more leads from your website doesn’t necessarily mean generating more traffic. There are lots of ways to generate more leads from your current traffic by simply optimising what you already have. Here are our top seven tips for generating more leads from your website.

Simplify your homepage

Your homepage is the hub of your website and it should be used to direct visitors to pages with more specific content. A simplified homepage enhances user experience, captures your visitors attention and ultimately ensures people are doing what you want them to do on your website.

Remove any unnecessary elements and make sure your homepage is clean and visually appealing, with clear communication of where your visitors can go next to get more information or take action.

Rethink your CTA

Which leads us nicely on to your call to action or ‘CTA’.

If your first call to action is to ‘book a call’ or ‘get in touch’ you might want to consider changing it. Your visitor might not have enough information or know you well enough to take that step. So don’t propose on the first date; cool it off and direct them to a key page, like your services.

Don’t leave people hanging

What happens once someone completes a form or books a call on your website? Something, nothing…not sure? Take the confusion away and create a thank you page that explains the process once someone has filled in a form or booked a call – reassure, build trust and create confidence.

Add a testimonial

When it comes to testimonials, more is definitely better. Social proof significantly improves your credibility and therefore the likelihood of your visitors converting into leads.

Testimonials are a powerful tool to demonstrate that others have had a positive experience with your business, creating a sense of reassurance that encourages your visitors to take action.

Use short snappy testimonials, and highlight key phrases. Even if they are not all read, the volume speaks for itself.

Aim for transparency

Don’t hide the important details or make things difficult for visitors. Be open about your sales process, pricing and terms and remove any doubts your potential customers may have. In order to do the thing you want them to do, you have to clarify exactly what people are signing up for.

Aim to make your sales process as clear and simple as possible, this will avoid losing anyone along the journey. When people have a clear idea of what to expect and when, they are more likely to convert.

Check the experience

If you neglect the small stuff it will show. Check for mistakes like:

  • Spelling
  • Grammar
  • Broken buttons
  • Broken links

And make sure it looks great, and works, on mobile devices.

You’re a professional, make sure that your website reflects that.
